LED display price in India is all over the place, and the range is wide enouh to be genuinely confusing. A basic P10 outdoor display might cost ₹1,500 per sq.ft. A fine pitch indoor video wall can go past ₹20,000 per sq.ft. Same category, 10x price difference.

The reason this gap exists is that “LED display” covers a lot of ground. A highway hoarding, a boardroom video wall, a retail storefront screen, and a rental stage backdrop are all LED displays, but they’re built for completely different conditions and have nothing in common beyond the technology.

At Lumn Lab, we’ve quoted and installed over 1,000 LED display projects across India since 2015. Here’s what actually drives the LED display price, and what the numbers look like in 2026.

Factors Affecting LED Display Price

Pixel Pitch

Pixel pitch is the distance between the centres of two LED pixels, measured in millimetres. P2.5 means 2.5mm. P10 means 10mm. Smaller number means more LEDs packed into the same area, which means sharper image, which means higher cost.

A P1.5 fine pitch indoor display can cost 8 to 10 times more per sq.ft than a P10 outdoor display. That’s not a brand markup. That’s the cost of manufacturing precision at scale: more LEDs, tighter tolerances, better calibration, more expensive drivers.

Outdoor vs indoor installation

Outdoor displays need to survive Indian weather: direct sun, monsoon rain, 45-degree heat, dust. That means higher brightness (5,000 to 10,000 nits vs 800 to 1,200 nits indoors), IP65-rated cabinets, better heat dissipation, and weatherproof cabling. Indoor displays don’t need any of that, but they need better resolution because people are standing 3 metres away, not 30.

LED Display Price in India in 2026

These are real-market ranges, not MSRP:

Display TypeApprox. Price Range
Outdoor P10 (basic)₹1,500 to ₹3,500 per sq.ft
Outdoor P4 to P8 (mid-range)₹4,500 to ₹8,500 per sq.ft
Indoor P2.5 to P3₹5,000 to ₹8,000 per sq.ft
Indoor high-resolution₹6,000 to ₹12,000 per sq.ft
Fine pitch P0.9 to P1.8₹10,000 to ₹25,000+ per sq.ft
Transparent LED₹10,000 to ₹30,000+ per sq.ft
Rental (per sq.ft per day)₹20 to ₹80

One thing to understand is that the panel cost is not the project cost. Mounting structure, video processor, control system, wiring, transportation, installation labour, and GST are all separate line items. In most projects, the final installed cost lands somewhere between 1.3x and 1.8x the panel-only price depending on site complexity.

LED Display Price in India 2026 – Complete Cost Guide

Indoor LED Display: What to Expect

Indoor LED displays go in corporate offices, boardrooms, lobbies, retail showrooms, hotels, auditoriums, and control rooms.

Typical range: ₹5,000 to ₹12,000 per sq.ft.

For most corporate and retail applications, P2.5 or P3 is the practical choice. These give clear visuals from 3 to 6 metres and don’t require the kind of budget that fine pitch demands. A 10ft x 6ft (60 sq.ft) indoor video wall in P2.5 will usually come to ₹3 lakh to ₹4.8 lakh before installation.

One thing people get wrong: they see P1.5 or P1.8 available and assume it’ll look better, so they budget for it. It will look better, from 2 metres. If your room’s seating is 6+ metres from the screen, a P3 panel at that distance will look identical. You won’t be able to tell the difference, and you’ll have spent 40% more.

Outdoor LED Display: What to Expect

Outdoor displays go on building facades, highways, petrol pumps, stadiums, transit hubs, and retail storefronts.

Typical range: ₹1,500 to ₹8,500 per sq.ft.

P10 is usually fine for long-distance roadside hoardings where viewers are 20+ metres away. P6 or P8 works when the audience is a bit closer. P4 makes sense for storefront displays where someone might be standing 5 to 8 metres away.

A 20ft x 10ft (200 sq.ft) outdoor P4 display, including weatherproofing, basic structure, and installation, will typically run ₹10 lakh to ₹16 lakh. That number goes up if the site needs a heavy steel frame, dedicated electrical, or height access equipment.

Don’t pick an outdoor screen based only on LED display price. In Indian conditions, brightness rating, IP rating, and heat management determine whether the display lasts 2 or 5 years.

Fine Pitch LED Display

Fine pitch means P1.8, P1.5, P1.2, or P0.9. These are for close-viewing environments where image quality matters: boardrooms, command centres, broadcast studios, experience centres, luxury retail.

Typical range: ₹10,000 to ₹25,000+ per sq.ft.

The cost premium is real and justified. More LEDs per sq.ft, higher manufacturing precision, better colour consistency, higher refresh rates. At this price point, calibration also matters. Panel-to-panel colour matching on a fine pitch video wall isn’t automatic. It requires professional calibration after installation. If that’s not in your quote, ask why.

Rental LED Screens

For events, exhibitions, concerts, and stage backdrops, renting makes more financial sense than buying in most cases.

Typical rate: ₹20 to ₹80 per sq.ft per day for panels.

That rate doesn’t usually cover transportation, setup and dismantling, truss, power distribution, or operator charges. Get a full event quote that includes all of those. P3.91 is the most commonly used configuration for event rentals in India, good clarity for typical stage viewing distances.

A Simple Way to Estimate Cost

Multiply your display area by the per sq.ft rate for your pixel pitch. That gives you the hardware cost.

Example:

  • Display: 12ft x 8ft = 96 sq.ft
  • Pixel pitch: P2.5 indoor
  • Rate: ₹6,000 per sq.ft
  • Hardware cost: ₹5.76 lakh
  • Final project cost (adding structure, processor, installation): roughly ₹8 to ₹8.5 lakh

This is a ballpark. Actual cost depends on your site, installation difficulty, control system, and whether you need any civil or electrical work.

Choosing the Right Pixel Pitch

Pick based on viewing distance. Nothing else.

Viewing DistanceSuggested Pixel Pitch
1 to 3 metresP1.2 to P1.8
3 to 6 metresP2.5 to P3
6 to 15 metresP4 to P6
15 metres and beyondP8 to P10

Finer pitch is only better when the viewer is actually close enough to benefit from it. A P1.5 display viewed from 10 metres looks the same as a P4 at the same distance.

What People Miss: After-Sales Support

Good quality LED panels are rated for 50,000 to 100,000 hours. In practice, the panels often outlast the power supplies, receiving cards, and cooling fans.

Before you commit to a vendor, ask three questions: who handles service calls, how fast can you get replacement parts, and is there a local team or does someone fly in from another city? A ₹2,000-per-sq.ft display from a vendor with no local support will cost you more than a ₹3,500-per-sq.ft display from someone who picks up the phone.

What Belongs in Your Quote?

GST on LED display projects is typically 18%. If you’re comparing quotes, make sure they cover the same scope. A complete project quote should include:

LED panels, cabinets, sending and receiving cards, video processor, mounting structure, electrical work, transportation, installation, software or CMS, warranty terms, and GST.

If two quotes look far apart, the difference is usually in what’s included. Comparing only the per sq.ft panel rate is like comparing flight prices without checking baggage fees.

Conclusion

Size doesn’t determine LED display price. Pixel pitch, brightness spec, cabinet quality, structure, installation complexity, and after-sales support do.

Figure out your viewing distance first. That tells you the right pixel pitch. The right pixel pitch tells you the right product category. From there, you’re comparing like-for-like.

If you’re planning a permanent outdoor installation, a corporate video wall, or a fine pitch project, get a site-specific quote. A generic price-per-sq.ft number is a starting point, not a final answer. The difference between a display that works well for 7 years and one that causes problems in 18 months often comes down to decisions made before the purchase order goes out.
